Purushottam School of Engineering and Technology, Rourkela established in the academic year 2008 with the dawn of new millennium, as a pilot project under "Purushottam Education & Welfare Trust", is situated in the Western part of the state of Orissa. It offers Three Year Diploma courses in different engineering discipline with the approval of AICTE, New Delhi, recognized by the Govt. of Orissa .
The Mission of the Institute is to build an enviable track record in the new millennium and to enable the future generations to play a key role in the technological scenario through 'Academic excellence' with focus on Quality Education, Research, Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
Purushottam School of Engineering & Technology, Rourkela is managed by the Puroshottam Education and Welfare Trust founded in the year 1998 by a cohesive group of highly educated and enlightened persons from various socio-economic segments such as technocrats, administrative, practicing engineers, management personnel, Industrialists, social workers and esteemed senior citizens of the Steel City, Rourkela. The purpose of the Trust is to carry out diversified social, welfare and educational activities in the state of Orissa in General and Rourkela in particular. Besides community welfare activities, the trust also aims at imparting excellence in various facets of professional education such as Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics & Telecommunication, which there is birth of integrated institute in Orissa. The ultimate aim is to produce Citizens of Exemplary Characteristics (PURUSHOTTAM) from the most modern & integrated educational institution in India for imparting professional education, proposed to be named as "Purushottam Academy of Excellence".
The younger generation of the new millennium, aptly called generation M2K is ready to enter the world of excellence with high expectations and dreams. Career in Engineering. Technology is a major attractions for the forthcoming generation which provide power, prosperity and opportunities for personal advancement.
